So what exactly do you know about the famed rocky gorge located in the Arizona desert? The uplift of the Colorado Plateaus is uneven, resulting in the North Rim of the Grand Canyon being over a thousand feet (about 300 meters) higher than the South Rim. The technical expertise of the boatmen in managing their rafts in challenging, sometimes risky situations, was exemplary. When the work of fiction we call the bible was written, so many now explainable phenomena seemed “spiritual”.

Over the past 6 million years, the Colorado River has carved through almost 2 billion years of the earth’s geologic history at the Grand Canyon. Dabei ist zu beachten, dass es insbesondere im Sommer in der Schlucht wesentlich heißer als an den Rändern ist. Go west on ALT-89 for for 55.0 miles (~1 hour and 25 minutes) to Jacob Lake, AZ.
