Those of us in the (more-or-less agnostic) intellectual community simply dropped out of questions regarding theos, because it all got so intractable. Some schools place more stress on intellectual understanding of the Divine, others on the emotional connection with the Divine. There, the Ba'al Shem Tov worked as a laborer, digging clay and lime, which his wife then sold in town. It is distinguished from other contemporary types of Judaism, such as Reform, Conservative, and secular Judaism, in its insistence that traditional Jewish law remains binding on all modern Jews.
